We are excited to introduce Göran Reierstam as the lead for Watopi’s entry into the Swedish market. With an extensive background as an urban planner and architect, Göran Reierstam brings a deep understanding of the structural challenges facing the Swedish water and sewage sector.
Why did you join Watopi?
“Over my years of experience as an urban planner/architect I have seen a constant rise in the overall development costs for new urbanization areas all over Sweden. A big part of that increase is the fees for sewage and water. In our country we shouldn’t have the situation where we have to “invent the wheel” again and again but instead let the best available technology be the one used.”
What are the opportunities in the Swedish market right now?
“The Swedish municipal infrastructure in Sweden has a rigid structure that prevents innovative thinking, but many of our 290 municipalities stand before huge up-coming reinvestments. This makes it possible to implement new concepts and a new structure for the coming decades.”
What makes Watopi’s solution “state-of-the-art”?
“The Watopi solution is unique. It is the first standardized and conventional high efficient treatment solution, packed in a scalable treatment plant, purifying the waste water from all pharmaceutical waste, multiresistant bacterias, microplastics and heavy metals.”
We aim to help municipalities and water utilities:
• Reduce massive overcosts caused by outdated large-scale investment models.
• Implement modular technology that removes persistent pollutants at the source.
• Modernize infrastructure without the need for complex, one-off engineering solutions.
We look forward to collaborating with Swedish partners for a smarter, cleaner future in water management 📧
